SUMMARY:

The Assistant Controller plays a vital leadership role in supporting financial operations and
continuous improvement initiatives. This role oversees month-end close, accounts payable,
payroll processing, and compliance with financial regulations, while ensuring accurate
financial reporting and nurturing vendor relationships. The Assistant Controller brings
strong analytical capabilities, attention to detail, and effective communication skills to guide
a high-performing finance team and ensure operational excellence.

Compensation: 90,000-110,000 (Salary) 


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, GAAP standards, and
internal confidentiality policies.
 Lead and manage the month-end close process, including preparation of financial
statements and reporting packages.
 Oversee teams with preparing and posting journal entries, analyzing account balances
for variances, reconciling various GL accounts, general ledger balances, financial record
and reports.
 Maintain confidentiality of patient and employee information. 
 Keeps depreciation schedules, prepaid insurance and prepaid other schedules   
 Strengthen vendor relationships through timely payments and responsive
communication.
 Reconcile bank statements and maintain general ledger accuracy.
 Supervise payroll processing, journal entries, expense reimbursements, and resolution
of payroll discrepancies.
 Support audit and compliance reviews and assist with ad hoc reporting as needed.
 Drive improvements in financial systems and operational processes.
 Maintain historical records and enforce document retention practices.
 Ensure all financial transactions are coded and allocated appropriately.
 Performs other related duties as may be assigned. The above is not intended to be an

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide leadership and direction to the finance and accounting team.
• Manage performance through coaching, reviews, and one-on-one meetings.

QUALIFICATIONS:

 Strong knowledge of healthcare finance, accounting principles, and regulatory
compliance.
 Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate
across teams.
 Proven success in driving financial process improvements and managing
operational change.
 Experience managing vendor relationships and financial software systems.
 Proficiency in Microsoft Office, QuickBooks, and HRIS/payroll platforms (e.g.,
Rippling).
 Payroll experience, both processing and with HRIS platforms -Experience utilizing
Rippling (preferred)
 Strong organizational skills, analytical thinking, and attention to detail.
 Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
 Commitment to professional growth and continuous learning.
 Willingness to be flexible and adaptable to change

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred
or equivalent related accounting experience .
• Master’s degree or CPA certification preferred.
• Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in financial operations or accounting.
• Previous experience in a supervisory or managerial role required.
